ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN SMART AGRICULTURE AND SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming modern agriculture by enabling data-driven decision-making, improving productivity, and ensuring sustainability. With increasing global population and climate challenges, traditional farming methods are insufficient to meet food demand. AI-powered technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems are driving smart agriculture by optimizing resource use, predicting crop yields, and reducing environmental impact. This paper explores the role of AI in smart agriculture, its applications, benefits, challenges, and its contribution to sustainable food production. The study highlights how AI enhances efficiency, reduces waste, and promotes environmentally friendly farming practices while addressing food security concerns. Keywords: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Agriculture, Precision Farming, Sustainable Food Production, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Computer Vision, Crop Monitoring, Yield Prediction, Smart Irrigation, Agricultural Robotics, Food Security, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Data-Driven Farming
