Abstract

Managerial effectiveness is the proficiency of a manager in the skillful application of his competencies towards organizational success and has been identified as an important parameter in characterizing and determining managerial performance. Organizational and individual constraints, along with a dynamic environment pose continuous challenges for successful managerial performance. Managerial effectiveness has been studied, explained and measured from different perspectives over the years in the industrial and service sectors and across different socio-cultural strata. The present study aims at reviewing the various models of managerial effectiveness and its determinants as given by different scholars in various professional and cultural contexts.
