LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract
Abstract: In today’s dynamic organizational environment, leadership effectiveness is increasingly influenced by emotional intelligence (EI), which complements traditional technical skills and decision-making abilities. Contemporary research highlights that leaders with high emotional competencies are better equipped to foster employee engagement, improve team performance, and drive overall organizational success. Emotional intelligence, encompassing self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills, enables leaders to navigate complex workplace challenges effectively. By integrating EI with core leadership skills, managers can enhance communication, resolve conflicts efficiently, and inspire higher employee motivation. This study investigates the relationship between leadership skills and EI through a survey-based analysis, providing insights into the specific emotional competencies that predict leadership success. Findings suggest that leaders who demonstrate strong EI positively impact team dynamics, boost employee satisfaction, and support sustainable organizational growth. Moreover, organizations that emphasize EI in leadership selection and training are likely to achieve higher productivity, employee retention, and competitive advantage. This study contributes to the growing body of literature linking emotional intelligence with practical leadership outcomes, highlighting its relevance in contemporary organizational behavior. Overall, the integration of EI into leadership practices is not merely beneficial but essential for effective management in complex, fast-paced environments.
