Abstract

This paper investigates the profitability measures of Indian home lending companies coupled with their financial performance throughout an interval of 2011–2023. The analysis is on four specific companies: LICHFL, HDFC Ltd, PNB Housing Finance, and Indiabulls Housing Finance. The study uses annual reports and secondary data for analysis from several sources. The main profitability indicators are analysed using statistical methods including mean, coefficient of variation, and trend analysis: net profit, total assets, operating and administrative expenses, staff costs, and spread. The results reveal the trends and variances in these indicators, therefore providing data on the financial soundness and efficiency of the home lending companies. Keywords: Housing finance companies, profitability indicators, net profit, total assets, operating expenses, employee expenses, spread, financial performance, trend analysis.
