Abstract

Abstract- The Indian government gives subsidized food to poor people through the public distribution system. Every family uses this according to their cards. Each family is provided with different food grains like rice, sugar and oil every month as per the total number of people in each household. Because there is a lot of corruption in the ration system, these facilities do not reach the under-privileged individual’s doorstep. All families had valid ration cards that they could use at the ration shop for buying commodities. In order to control situation, once goods are procured it has to be done once every month by all households in one place which is a ration shop. The shopkeeper distributes the commodities by weighing them manually using a scale. Where we can note some imperfections which individuals may bear are first, imprecise weighting of products due to errors made by humans and secondly, sometimes consumer may absence from getting the products whereas such goods can be misused by sellers if they are left unattended because no one monitors them anyways. Afterward he sells them to make profits on behalf of the government and consumers without informing any party about his actions. Keywords: Smart Rationing System, E-Ration Shop, Rationing using Automation like RFID and GSM.
