A CORRELATIONAL STUDY OF REJECTION SENSTIVITY AND SELF ESTEEM AMONG YOUNG ADULTS

Abstract

The aim of the study is to find the relationship between Rejection Sensitivity and Self-Esteem among young adults. A total sample of 100 young adults were taken from the different areas of Ludhiana through Stratified sampling method. A validated questionnaire were used to measure the Rejection Sensitivity and Self Esteem among young adults Adult Rejection Sensitivity scale by Downey and Feldman and UCLA loneliness scale were used. Pearson moment correlation was used for data analysis. As a results of the study, there is a Significant negative relationship between Rejection sensitivity and Self esteem among young adults. The young adults who have high level of Rejection sensitivity results in low level of Self Esteem. Keywords: Rejection Sensitivity, Self - Esteem, Young Adults.
