Abstract

The purpose of the study is to look into the connection between achievement motivation and an authoritative parenting style. Using the random sampling approach, a total of 100 college-going students were selected from the city of Ludhiana. The study employs a validated self-reported questionnaire to assess authoritative parenting style and achievement motivation. The result of the study shows that there is a positive relationship between authoritative parenting style and achievement motivation. The students who have authoritative parents they are high in achievement motivation. The finding also shows that in college students the authoritative parents are able to motivate their children in a better way.
