A BRIEF STUDY ON THERAPEUTIC CONTACT LENSES IN OPHTHALMOLOGY

Abstract

Therapeutic contact lenses have emerged as a promising approach in ophthalmology, combining vision correction with localized drug delivery for the treatment of ocular diseases. This study aims to explore the potential and impact of therapeutic contact lenses in ophthalmic drug delivery. The utilization of contact lenses as drug delivery platforms allows for sustained and controlled release of therapeutics, enhancing their bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy. This research investigates the materials, design considerations, and optimization techniques involved in developing therapeutic contact lenses. By evaluating the benefits and challenges of this approach, we aim to contribute to the advancement of personalized and effective treatments for ocular diseases.
